About The Artist
ARTIST STATEMENT:
I am a third generation Canadian artist. My father Karl E Wood and grandfather Robert E Wood were both professional artists whose painting careers spanned many decades. I was born in 1974 and throughout my life I have been fortunate to live in some of the most inspiring and beautiful places including the Okanagan, Alberta foothills, Drumheller with its fossil-rich badlands, and Vancouver Island where I currently reside and have lived in the southern, central and northern areas. From the stars to beneath the surface of the ocean I love connecting deeply with nature and attempting to capture, through my art, the essence, flowing energy, and beautiful beings that I encounter along my way.
As a professional artist since 2003 I have enjoyed immersing myself in many mediums some of which include painting with oil and acrylic, and sculpture work with clay, steel, bronze, stone and crystals. All of these have provided wonderful ways to express myself, capture magic moments and offer my artistic vision to others. I am currently working mainly with acrylic and love how all my work continues to evolve and change, with one love flowing into the next..
