About The Artist

Holly Dyrland is an Alberta Artist working in acrylics.  She grew up drawing, but didn't start to work seriously in artistic communication until she studied Interior Design in Calgary at Mount Royal College. 

Learning to draw and paint in Design school gave her background and the technical knowledge to continue, starting to explore painting artistically as well as for design purposes. She now lives in the country with her husband and three boys and draws inspiration from her daily life and experiences. Her paintings capture a sense of light and life of the subject, bringing the everyday beauty of landscapes and any other inspiring subject matter to the canvas, and into the homes of private collectors worldwide.

"Being an artist awakens my joy every day as I learn to see God's beauty in His creation.  From the way the light will arrest my attention as it reveals things my eyes didn't previously see to the way capturing something on canvas triggers my imagination, memories, and connections from life; I feel so privileged to paint.  I hope that my work inspires you and takes you to those places in your memories and life connections that bring you joy!

I studied Interior Design at Mount Royal College in Calgary, Alberta and attained my degree.  I worked in this industry for a couple of years before starting a family.  After having a son I never returned fully to work, but worked from home when I could. I still love Design and Architecture in all its forms and occassionally do some work in that direction.  However, it's always been a dream of mine to have my own studio as I simply love to paint!"
