"figures and faces", a figurative show
collector's exhibition: Saturday may 2 to 16, 2026
Since its inception in 1980, the Lloyd Gallery has stood as a cornerstone of the Penticton arts community. Passionately nurtured by Nel and Alphons Witteman after its purchase in 1982, their journey as art collectors has shaped a remarkable selection that reflects their creative taste and love for artistry. Following the passing of Alphons in 2022 and Nel’s transition to a charming condo, it is now time to unveil their curated collection to the public and to allow new hearts to fall in love with the art. Join us for this extraordinary once-in-a-lifetime exhibition, where the essence of figures and faces comes to life; showcasing the profound narratives captured in each piece. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience and acquire treasures from a legacy of artistic devotion!
BELOW: Sculptures, then paintings and prints (note not all are from the Witteman collection!), then a special collection of Nel and Alphons' own works that they made, for the first time for sale at the gallery. Click on image to view prices and titles. Prices marked are framed as is.

ABOUT ALPHONS WITTEMAN:
TBA! With 115 works in the show getting all this info together in time is proving challenging! Stay tuned for some nice words about Alphons Witteman, creator, art lover and enthusiast, people applauder, and mostly our husband and dad and opa. Nel Witteman also made many of the sculptures in this show as well and most were made around 1970-1978.
