artist, Angie Roth McIntosh has a strong desire to use her
To this end she has been organizing accessible arts activities for many years. This spring she started the Penticton Plein Air painting group which meets twice a week and welcomes all people whether beginners, seasoned professionals, or even visitors. For the last several years she has journeyed to her art retreat in Stewart BC, by Alaska and has organized paint outs in BC’s scenic northern glaciers as well as children’s painting at the Bear Festival each summer. Angie has organized painting workshops for the Meadowlark festival and has encouraged people to be aware of our fragile local ecosystem as the 2010 Meadowlark Artist. Angie has volunteered with a local seniors group for several years has been available to mentor on Wednesdays at Shatford Centre’s drop in painting day. Angie remembers how radically and wonderfully her life changed when an art therapist, whom she encountered while training as a medical student back in the 1980’s at Penticton Regional Hospital asked her if she had ever thought of painting and so Angie is always ready to ask others…have you ever thought of painting? Angie delights in the joys she has received to her heart and soul, the friendships she has made locally and all around the world, and the adventures she has had because of her training and career as an artist!
Angie is thrilled to have had the support and encouragement of her wonderful physician husband Rob two remarkable children Kelsey and Kieran. Her whole family has taken up the encouragement and have had many joys in doing their own painting too!
